On April 30, 2025, an event was held at the United Nations Office in Nairobi (Kenya) dedicated to the allocation of additional financial assistance by the Government of Japan for the implementation of a number of projects under the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), including in Ukraine.

The UNEP project in Ukraine, involves the introduction of advanced technologies for the reconstruction of buildings and structures containing asbestos, as well as the disposal of toxic construction waste.

The Ambassador of Ukraine to Kenya, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to UNEP, Andrii Pravednyk, highly appreciated the assistance provided by the Government of Japan in support of UNEP’s activities in Ukraine. He also expressed gratitude to the UNEP Secretariat and the UNEP Office in Ukraine for their consistent efforts aimed at addressing the negative consequences of Russian aggression on the environment of our country.
