In the course of the work of the Assembly, the Ministerial Declaration, 18 resolutions and several decisions aimed at strengthening United Nations Environment Programme operational activities in the context of environmental protection were considered and adopted by consensus.
The key result of the work of the Delegation of Ukraine was the adoption by consensus of the resolution "Environmental assistance and recovery in areas affected by armed conflicts". The resolution is aimed to facilitate an increase of the effectiveness of the UNEP in the context of providing assistance to the Governments of Member States for the restoration of affected ecosystems. The adoption of the mentioned document is of a special significance for further involvement of UNEP in the restoration of the regions of Ukraine affected by the invasion of Russia.
In his speech to the participants of the Assembly, Ambassador Andrii Pravednyk expressed the appreciation to Member States for their consistent support and emphasized that, despite all the challenges, Ukraine remains committed to its international obligations and prioritizes environmental protection even during the war.
