A meeting was held in Nairobi between the Director of the Department of Africa and Regional Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, H.E. Liubov Abravitova, and the Director General for Political and Diplomatic Affairs at the State Department for Foreign Affairs of Kenya, Amb. Josphat Maikara.
The Kenyan side confirmed its unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. “If Ukraine is violated, no one can be safe,” Josphat Maikara emphasized.
The parties discussed the development of political dialogue between Ukraine and Kenya, interaction in international organizations, as well as prospects for expanding trade, economic and educational cooperation.
H.E. Liubov Abravitova emphasized the importance of developing mutually beneficial and transparent business ties between Ukraine and African countries, in particular Kenya, as well as continuing dialogue at high and highest levels.
Particular attention was paid to educational cooperation. The Ukrainian side confirmed its interest in expanding educational opportunities for Kenyan students in Ukraine, in particular in the fields of medicine, engineering and other popular specialties.
 The parties also discussed the risks associated with Russia's recruitment of citizens of African countries to participate in the war against Ukraine. The Kenyan side informed about the measures being taken to prevent the use of Kenyan citizens for such purposes.
