In accordance with the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers (Government) of Ukraine No. 1246 dated December 02, 2021 on the changes of the border crossing regime, the following measures have been introduced.
Starting from December 03, 2021 entry to the territory of Ukraine for foreign nationals and stateless persons from the following countries: Republic of South Africa, Republic of Botswana, Republic of Zimbabwe, Republic of Namibia, Kingdom of Lesotho, Kingdom of Esvatini, Republic of Mozambique and Republic of Malawi is prohibited until further notice. Such measures were introduced in order to mitigate spread of the newly discovered Covid-19 variant B.1.1.529 – Omicron.
According to the Government decision the following categories of foreign nationals and stateless persons are not subject to the restrictions on entry to Ukraine:
- persons, who have permanent or temporary residence permit in Ukraine;
- persons who are family members of Ukrainian nationals;
- persons, who are diplomats, employees of consular posts, missions of official international missions, organizations accredited in Ukraine, and members of their families;
- foreign nationals and stateless persons if their arrival was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
All mentioned categories are subject to self-quarantine and are obliged to install and activate the mobile application of the electronic service "Vdoma" (available for Android and IOS devices). The terms of self-quarantine of persons crossing the state border to enter Ukraine is 14 days.
