3 November 2022, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Kenya Andrii Pravednyk took part in the Zanzibar International Film Festival in the United Republic of Tanzania, organized with the support of the EU Delegation in Tanzania.
Ukrainian films had drawn considerable interest among the audience, which had the opportunity to learn the creative output of modern Ukrainian directors. The EU Ambassadors accredited in Tanzania, representatives of cultural and artistic community of Tanzania, as well as representatives of the mass media were attended this event.
We would like to express our special thanks to Manfredo Fanti, the EU Ambassador to Tanzania, Frank Werner, director of the Goethe Institute and Martin Mhando, director of the film festival for their personal contribution to the screening of Ukrainian films.
The main idea of the short film "Mom!" is an answer to the question of huge difference between the Ukrainian and Russian nations.
The film My Thoughts Are Silent examines the eternal problem of parents and children as well as the importance of finding understanding between them.
We hope that a good tradition of Ukraine's participation in this festival has been established and this will be a good opportunity to spread the Ukrainian culture in East Africa in particular in Tanzania.
