On October 24, 2011 His Excellency Volodymyr Butiaha, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Kenya, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Environment Program and the United Nations Human Settlements Program took part in celebration of the United Nations Day in Nairobi.

The occasion was attended by the UNON Director-General Ms.Sahle-Work Zewde, Vice President of the Republic of Kenya Honorable Kalonzo Musioka, members of the diplomatic corps and numerous media-representatives.

In his statement the Vice President of the Republic of Kenya emphasized the importance of an active UN involvement in solving Somali crises.
