Rwanda is one of the promising trade and economic partners of Ukraine in the region of East Africa.
In 2021, the bilateral trade turnover between Ukraine and Rwanda amounted to 1 million 846 thousand USD.
During this period, exports from Ukraine to Rwanda amounted to 1 million 012 thousand USD (52.4% of the same period in 2020), imports - 834 thousand USD (163.6% of the same period in 2020) The balance of foreign trade in goods was positive: 178 thousand dollars. USD.
The main items of exports of goods from Ukraine to Rwanda were: fats and oils of animal or vegetable origin - 468 thousand USD (46.3% of total exports), alcoholic and soft drinks, vinegar - 194 thousand USD (19.1%), products made of stone, plaster, cement - 191 thousand USD (18.9%), products of the flour and cereals industry - 111 thousand USD (11%), meat and edible offal - 31 thousand USD (3.1%), optical devices and apparatus, photographic - 14 thousand USD (1.4%).
The main item of imports of goods from Rwanda to Ukraine was: coffee and tea - 673 thousand USD (80.7%). The second position belonged to tin and articles thereof - 153 thousand USD (18.4%).
Analysis of the structure of Ukrainian exports to Rwanda shows that despite a slight decrease in bilateral trade in goods compared to the same period last year, there was an increase in exports in two commodity positions: under the item "alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and vinegar" was 149.3% year, under the article "products of stone, plaster, cement" - 146.7%.
Exports of services from Ukraine to Rwanda also increased and amounted to 342 thousand USD (240% of the same period in 2020)
The basis for exports of services from Ukraine to Rwanda were travel-related services - 253 thousand USD (74.2%).
Imports of services from Rwanda to Ukraine in 2021 were not carried out.
The positive balance of trade between Ukraine and Rwanda in the service sector amounted to 342 thousand USD.
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine in 2021, bilateral trade in goods and services between Ukraine and Rwanda amounted to 2 million 188 thousand USD with a positive balance for Ukraine 1 million 354 thousand USD.
The practice of promoting Ukrainian goods and services on the Rwandan market shows the potential for the development of trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Rwanda in the agricultural and agro-industrial spheres.
