Today in support and solidarity with Crimean Tatar People the staff of the Embassy of Ukraine in Kenya have raised the Crimean Tatar flag with black ribbon. This day 76 years ago about 200,000 Crimean Tatars were forcibly deported from their motherland Crimea by Soviet authorities. The deportation is a crime against humanity and is act of the genocide against Crimean Tatar people.
Since 2014 Russia continues to systematically violate fundamental rules of law as well as basic human rights in the occupied Crimea. We express our support to the Crimean Tatar people in the struggle for their rights and we call on international community to demand Russia to stop occupation of Crimea.
