April 26, 2021, to mark the 35th anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster, the Embassy of Ukraine held the opening ceremony of the Virtual Poster Exhibition - Messages of Chornobyl to younger generations: Learning also from activities in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The exhibition is organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in Kenya together with the Organising Committee of Atomic Bombing Poster Exhibition in Nairobi. Also the exhibition was supported by the
UN Environment Programme (UNEP).
Among the speakers who delivered their opening remarks were Ambassador of Ukraine to Kenya H.E. Andrii Pravednyk, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) H.E. Zainab Hawa Bangura, the representatives of UNEP and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), as well as the experts and youth representatives from Ukraine and Japan. In particular, the Associate Professor at the Institute of International Relations, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv Svitlana V. Andrushchenko as well as the student of the Environment and Energy Security in International Relations Master Programme, Daryna Yaroshovets, presented their speeches.
