On April 7, Ambassador of Ukraine to Kenya Andrii Pravednyk met with Mucai Kunyiha, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Phyllis Wakiaga, Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers. The head of the diplomatic mission informed the Kenyan Association of Manufacturers about the international sanctions imposed on Russia in connection with the unprovoked and unjustified full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. In this regard, he called on Kenyan producers to join these sanctions, in particular, on the termination of cooperation with Russian financial institutions, refraining from cooperating with Russian companies, refusing to participate in international exhibitions in Russia, etc.
In addition, the possible threats to global food security as a result of Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine were discussed.
Possible ways to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine were also examined, including but not limited to direct contacts with local coffee and tea suppliers in order to discuss available options.
