In the framework of commemoration of the second anniversary of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine on March 6, 2026, in Nairobi took place the screening of the Oscar-nominated Ukrainian film "20 days in Mariupol " directed by Mstyslav Chernov, organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Kenya in cooperation with Ukrainian producer, director, representative of the Charity Foundation "Razom for Ukraine" Polina Buchak with the support of Anga Diamond Cinema.
The film "20 Days in Mariupol", which was screened for the first time in East Africa, is a story of the twenty days spent by Mstyslav Chernov and his colleagues in Mariupol after Russia began its invasion of Ukraine. They continued their work under the siege and recorded footage that later became the defining images of the war: the death of children, the mass burial, the bombed-out maternity hospital and other horrors of Russian crimes.
The event was attended by heads and representatives of foreign diplomatic missions accredited to Kenya, representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora and the Embassy of Ukraine, as well as representatives of Kenya's business and cultural circles and mass media.
