After the temporarily occupation of the parts of Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, the European Union imposed sanctions including ban on conducting trade, payment and other external economic operations wih the temporary occupied territories of Ukraine.
At the same time, some banking and credit institutions in the EU exercised restrictions on payments with Ukrainian companies on the government-controlled territory of the abovementioned oblasts due to the difficulties in identifying the limits between the areas.
In this regard the Directorate General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Marlet Union pf the European Commission published corresponding guidelines for the EU financial institutions and companies.
