On September 15th, 2025, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Kenya H.E. Yurii Tokar held a meeting with a business delegation from Kirinyaga County. Particular attention was drawn to the supply and joint production of fertilisers, as well as opportunities linked to the county’s industrial park.
On September 15th, 2025, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Kenya H.E. Yurii Tokar held a meeting with a business delegation from Kirinyaga County.
The delegation was led by Ms Pauline Wangeci (Chairperson, Kenya National Chambers of commerce, Kirinyaga county), Mr Gerishom Wanjohi (Vice Chairperson) and other members of the Chamber.
Representatives of various local businesses, notably Mazao Group and Safi Organics also took part in the meeting.
Kirinyaga County is one of Kenya’s key agricultural regions, producing rice, tea, coffee, cotton, avocado, macadamia and other crops.
During the meeting, the Kenyan side expressed interest in establishing cooperation with Ukrainian partners in agribusiness and various training programmes and The Embassy of Ukraine in Kenya outlined avenues for cooperation with Ukrainian counterparts.
Also Kenyan side has voiced its interest in deploying technologies for the storage and processing of agricultural products. Particular attention was drawn to the supply and joint production of fertilisers, as well as opportunities linked to the county’s industrial park.
The Kirinyaga Chamber also invited Ukrainian companies to take part in the Agitech Grand Expo, to be held on October 2–4th in the town of Mwea — a traditional business center and a robust business hub.
