On 1st April, 2019, H.E.Mr.Andrii Pravednyk, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Kenya had a meeting with Mr.Harry Kimutai, Principal Secretary for Livestock, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Irrigation of the Republic of Kenya at the premises of the Killimo House.
During the said meeting, the perspectives of the development of relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Kenya in the agrarian sphere were discussed. The Kenyan Side expressed its particular interest in establishing cooperation in the field of transfer of agrarian technologies and utilizing Ukrainian best practices in the field of livestock and animal feed production.
Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Kenya also raised the issue of the necessity to strengthen the legal and treaty base for mutually beneficial cooperation by completing the process of concluding a Memorandum of Understanding between Agrarian Ministries of Ukraine and the Republic of Kenya.
During the meeting a presentation has been made by Director General of “AVA” Group of Companies - a potential investor and leading Ukrainian producer of animal feed and premixes as well as a supplier of a full range of design, turnkey installation and maintenance services of the respective production facilities on the territory of the country of the customer.
According to the outcomes of the meeting, the parties noted that there is a significant potential for the development of relations between Ukraine and Kenya in the agro-industrial sphere, underlined the necessity to sign the above-mentioned Memorandum as well as to establish a broader cooperation between Ukrainian and Kenyan companies in this sphere.
