On the Day of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes, the Embassy of Ukraine in Kenya joins the action "Angels of memory" in commemoration of Heroes of Revolution of Dignity who sacrificed their lives for democratic future of Ukraine.

The Revolution of Dignity started 5 years ago as Ukrainian citizens started peaceful  protests against the decision of former government of Ukraine not to sign association agreement with the European Union.  On February 18-20, 2014, the Yanukovych government opened fire on harmless demonstrators. Over 100 people, who were later called the Heavenly Hundred, were murdered on the Maidan Independence Square in the center of Kyiv.

The revolution marked the begging of a new chapter in Ukrainian history, it played a major role in supporting and promoting democracy in our country, it strengthened civil society in Ukraine and finally determined its course towards European integration.

Since February 18, an exposition dedicated to Heavenly Hundred is held at the premises of the Embassy of Ukraine in Kenya. Among other attributes the exhibition presents the artworks by Volodymyr Yermolenko.
