Ukraine and Comoros signed November 3, 2017, in Moroni, an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of education and science.
The document, concluded between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Union of the Comoros, is the first bilateral agreement in the history of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The agreement, among other things, proposes to citizens of Comoros to obtain education in higher educational institutions of Ukraine, including, in particular, within the framework of state scholarships.
From the Ukrainian Side the Agreement was signed by Ambassador of Ukraine to the Union of the Comoros H.E. Mr. Yevhenii Tsymbaliuk.
From the Comorian Side the Agreement was signed by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, the Francophonie and the Comorians abroad H.E. Mr. Mohamed El-Amine Soeuf.
The signing of the Agreement was witnessed by Secretary General of the Ministry of National Education and Research Mr. Yahya Mohamed Illiassa and Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Union of the Comoros Ali Mohamed Soilihi.
After the signing of the Agreement Ambassador Tsymbaliuk pointed out that the document will not only increase the number of graduates from Ukraine among the Comorian professionals, but will also contribute to strengthening people-to-people contacts between the two states. Minister El-Amine remarked that, in addition to the practical benefits, this Agreement will become a legacy of the Ukrainian diplomacy in Comoros.
